Gravity Sketch: 3D Sketching Tablet
Gravity Sketch is a group project of four Innovation Design Engineering students of the Royal College of Art namely: Daniela Paredes Fuentes, Guillaume Couche, Oluwaseyi Sosanya, and Pierre Paslier. Their aim is to enable users to create a 3D image using augmented reality. Gravity Sketch consists of a clear acrylic tablet that has joysticks on the side (called Landing Pad), a stylus, and a virtual reality headset like Oculus Rift or augmented reality device like Google Glass. The joysticks on the side of the Landing Pad that can be used to change the planes that the current pen illustrated. This device will be helpful for people who use CAD or computer aided design software to create models and illustrations.
The device consists of a clear acrylic tablet with a joystick and a sliding control on one side. The user sketches on the tablet – called a "landing pad" – in 2D with a stylus held in one hand while manipulating the controls with the other, to create the third dimension of the drawing.
